The South Houston girls varsity soccer team won against Sam Rayburn at Pasadena Veterans Memorial Stadium Jan. 15. During the first 24 minutes, defensive player Eloisa Castillo, scored South Houston’s only goal. From then on, Rayburn dominated possession of the ball and increased pressure on South Houston’s goalie with more shots on goal but never scored a point. After gathering with her team and celebrating their victory, sophomore and team captain Zylamid Cantu, “We still need to work on passing the ball and communicating with each other.But overall it was an achieving win.”
